I think we're missing something

Today I had was looking at a gen Gen PAM104 at the Diamond Cellar here in Columbus, OH. As I contained my drool, I was inspecting the crown guard and noticed something that is not on any reps, I small wheel on the crown lever, it rolls across the crown when extended. Is this a newer feature or are we missing this detail?

It worked pretty well considering there were not scuffs on the crown. Has this feature been used on my reps yet?

Hub as far as I know none of the rep crown guards have incorporated this feature. If you looked more carefully the 104 you looked at should have the quick release strap changing system as well.

There is a button you press with an included took that will just release the strap lug bar thing. This means less scratches on your lugs from careless strap changes!

As a matter of fact I did notice the quick release system. The salesman didn't let me study the PAM since I wasn't buying, I wish I could have taken a photo (yeah right).
If one of us in the forums were to draw up a design for this (I volunteer myself), would one of our vendors in China be able to make the new crown guard? It might come down to a question of if it's financially logical to embark on new tooling for something that may not increase sales. That's an entirely different thread.

The lever wheel was introduced in mid-J-series (2007) and is rahter a gadget to tease us rep fellows than something with a really sensible function.
Considering that we won´t have J-series or K-series casebacks in the near future we can well live without it. After all there are many more things that are worth our attention and considering that there is no correct H-series CG availeable from the dealers the lever wheel thing doesn´t matter anyway.
