I ordered from TrustyTime for the first time. paying by credit card was very easy and informed. I chose the same model and QC pictures. the product I requested was sent. Good quality. The price is reasonable. I definitely buy it again. I bought a similar low-quality product at DHGate , more expensive at DHGate, and I was not satisfied.
I wrote in this title, because I do not understand why it is not reliable.
Thank you Andrew.

Usually it's something like "Hey, new member from so and so, what a wonderful forum, lots to learn. Nice to meet you, so excited!"

But nooo, "TT is the shit, why y'all trippin..." :D

Trusty is still my favorite td. I read the thread that caused him to lose status. He replied and was polite.

I tried some other tds but trusty is still my guy!

My first rep purchase was from Andrew (this was many years ago). I've only had good experiences so far. I felt before, and still do, that he is seriously overcharging for postage, although, to be truthful, I have never had a watch from him seized or had to pay customs fees. And both of those have happened to me in the past few years. The last few times, I comparison shopped and actually saved about 15% of the price on the watch and postage combined, compared to the two other TD's who also had the watch I was looking for. I trust Andrew to deliver, but I am not prepared to pay through the nose for the privilege of buying from him.

What I am trying to say is that while I have nothing against Andrew I also completely understand why he was banned here. It seems to be academic anyway - I only buy from him when he can offer the watch I am looking for at a competitive price (which means cheaper than others I have had a good experience with in the past, because he also charges me $45 for postage a pop) and so should anyone else.

My first order with him went flawless. My 2nd was seized by customs. They sent a letter and he doesn't believe it is from customs and wants me to call the number they provided. I will not attempt to contact a number who may or may not be customs. I am considering it a loss of about $450 and will not be ordering from him again unless resolved. It is a shame because when all goes well with him it goes really well. But we all worry about what happens when there is a problem.

...and this is why they aren't TD's here.

As far as I know he was, years ago, accused of rigging timegrapher pics. But the reason given for ban and fall from grace, listed in the thread linked above, was that he attempted to rig prices and strongarm smaller dealers. That is why I said that I am aware of the reasons for his ban, but that they are academic/irrelevant as many of us buy from him only if his prices are on or below par (including pp) compared to other TD's.

Thank you Andrew.

I mean that is fine and all but why not choose a TD instead?

I used Andrew for one order. The rep arrived DOA. He said I could send it back or have someone in conus repair it and he would give me a $50 discount on my next order. I had the watch fixed here and when I tried to place my next order a few weeks later, he said he didn't remember saying that. And he couldn't find the email. But he had all the other emails between us. Sems odd. So I refused to order from him again. I feel he was dishonest, and what was really strange, with the discounts I would have gotten including one for using moneygram, it only would have cost him about $10 more. So he lost a good customer for $10....Go figure.

I've ordered exclusively from Trusty and have had no issue. I frankly don't really care about the accusation of rigging the industry as I'm sure many many people are doing so, it's an illegal industry after all. I've had no issues but have had QC and communication dealt with well.

Just want to share my experience with Trustytime, too (no need to open a new thread for it). I ordered two IWC Spitfire 3878 - grey dial with SS bracelet - from Andrew a couple of weeks ago. It was a smooth transaction, he always replied timely and the watches arrived safe and sound. So I'm very contend. The reason why I didn't choose a trusted dealer this time: Usually I'm buying from InTime or Puretime, but they only had AAA-versions of the Spitfire for 360+ $ in stock, and I was looking for an affordable version.

That wasn't Trusty Time. He was removed as a TD before the days of timegrapher pics.

im missing your point here ...
My point is who makes an account just to say they had a good experience with a non-td

he claims to have purchased watches from puretime etc and didn't bother to make any posts until now?
