I think it is a 233 but can one of you experts cast an eye over the pics ?

Hi Folks

I bought this watch in the Guangzhou watch markets last week (what an eye opener for watch addicts for which I will open a different thread) and being more of an IWC fan I surprised myself by buying a Pam and a Valerin Constantin.

So I looked thru the stickies and the closest I can find to dial similarities is the Pam 933. I bought this for the coffee/bronze face and although told it was "Swiss" it was in the display cases rather than it the drawers where the 'Swiss' generally were to be observed. The original strap was a light tan that, whilst leather, looked like vinyl so I got them to swap to the strap pictured.

So far it runs perfectly and keeps accurate time and the AR is really good. The lume is OK (not brilliant) and it all feels snug and tight.

Can anyone id it for me and also tell me what the sweep hand with the arrowhead does (I assume 2nd time zone) and how you can adjust it ?

Looks like my 233 but with a brown dial. Yes, that extra hand is a GMT hand for setting a different timezone.

Thanks ... I know nothing about Pams but it does look the closest version.

How do I adjust the GMT dial ? Do you know ?

I am surprised that there has been no other responses as I thought Pams were pretty popular on this board

Your watch although beautiful is a fantasy rep and people here usually don't like fantasy watches.
People here like doing comparisons and looking for accuracy or differences with the gen.
Besides this type of Panerai, since they have no First Class replicas are less popular.
If your watch is fitted, as it seems, with an Asian 23J, should have working power reserve indicator and the GMT hand should be adjusted in some position of the Crown. Try two senses in all positions of the crown to find the winding position and the GMT, the date and the time regulation.
If you like your watch, enjoy it and don't mind other opinions.

Thanks for taking the time to reply I really appreciate it. I suspected it was a 'fantasy rep' as I searched high and wide to try and ID it.

Like I said, I am an IWC collector with about 10 so far and this Pam just caught my eye as it was different. It has been running perfectly for about 10 days now and it will be something I wear on occasions when it takes my fancy.

I dont mind what anyone says .... if it ain't gen then there is no reason to be precious over the diff levels of rep'ness.
