So I'm bidding on THREE!!!
Someone stop me. PLEASE!

I found these auto Panny knock-offs going for cheap on the bay.
I thought, "Hey, why the f*** not?"

So, here's what I'm bidding on:

Luminor Submersible (Pan 024 or 025) knockoff:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &viewitem=

All stainless (Pan 333) knockoff:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &viewitem=

Luminor GMT (Pan 244, in gunmetal) Knockoff:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &viewitem=

Whaddaya think?

Man, the bug bit bad...

Really crapola... all of them. One is a totall fantasy and none of them have Panerai on the dial. Barely worth the current bid and nearly impossible to resale. Other than that... go for it

Really...I don't know crap about Panny...but I know a knockoff when I see one!

Not PAM reps, per se. Homage watches would be closer to the truth. Either way, if you like 'em, go for it.

also the seller has only 4 feedbacks from 1 cent rings he sold.
and now he offers 58 watches.
i wouldnt buy anything from him, better take your money and buy
a good one instead of 3 crap watches

The first auction listed is a good guy..He has a new name on eBay cause they shut down his old one. I have ordered from him before. Just wanted to let you know you can trust him.

This guy is fine,,

Obilibalao is really [blink:1p10brh5]Alpha Time[/blink:1p10brh5] before ebay removed him (Panerai Pressure)

He is safe to buy from.. dont worry.

Thanks guys.
I should have said "homage" instead of "knockoff".

Or ripoff.

Well, whatever, I'm takin' a plunge here.

I actually don't mind these alpha watches at all. I recently saw a lovely Rollie Paul Newman on eBay and thought it looked quite nice. I probably wouldn't mind wearing something that is a homage to an $80k+ watch, which I clearly would never ever buy as a gen.

Nothing wrong with a homage if you just like the style & model of the watch.

The reason I joined this forum was actually because I was looking for a sterile hommage version of Luminor Panerai. Still planning to make a sterile PAM homage with DSN but I've got other expenses (house, car, phonebills, clothes, shoes, other watches and so on) that first need to be taken care of.

It might be the most expensive watch you ever buy. Once you get hooked on Pams there is no turning back. You will lay awake in the middle of the night concerned about the L Swiss L spacing, the thickness of the crown, the color of the AR coating and the dreaded recessed canon pin. Then there are the straps...

But that's what makes this all so much fun. The submersible looks like a good place to start. Next you should get a good 111 from one of the dealers here. That's the watch that is the most essential Pam.

Good stuff DV, always wondered what to start with Pams. Saw one on TV last night, but can't recall the show. Maybe DMZ on that Exit Wounds movie (Steven Segal).

jn1975, dude ! your priorites are messed up? Welcome to the same boat as the rest of us! Pixs when you get?

I always tell people you should try one of everything. I did a couple of PAMs myself. Not my cup of tea but at least I know what they're about now.

I own 3 panny homage watches and they all run very well but they are not marked at all. Not a problem to me cause they're all fakes anyway. I have a Destro, a power reserve and a Cali dial style.
All just provide the look without causing a hole in the pocket. Alpha Time is a good guy but I have never bought from him, I bought all mine with the exception of the power reserve from Helenarou who is now under a different name, if they still have a store on the bay at all.

Update: lost the bid on the sub homage (stuff happens when you're at work), but the other dealer isn't answering my messages...I'm thinking about cancelling the bids and just going after a Panny 111 rep.

The weird thing is, I've always had a thing against Panerai, but after getting a nice history lesson on Panerai and Anonimo from a knowledgable AD (with whom I'm investing in a gen Zenith with), I don't feel bad at all about getting a Panerai rep...and am rather interested in Anonimos...anyone know of a good San Marcos rep?

And who do you know of on ebay that sells better homages (if you know of any)?

yeah i also saw the listing of hommage panerai watches from obilibalao i sent him an ebay question message about his watch offerings interested to read what he has to say. keep us posted as to your experiences.

oh by the way, once you get bitten by this PAM bug, there is no turning back. I was never into the brand or any model since i started this hobby 1 and 1/2 years ago, and since November 2008 i have now 7 pams (111, 212, 90, custom made FIDDY, 282 on blue gator, a vintage radiomir got from a member trade here, 10 straps, an OEM rubber diver strap, 3 SS bracelets and a great looking 6 watch panerai watch box) the next pam i search for is the Luminor Chrono Daylight PAM 188 or Luminor Chrono Daylight PAM 251

good luck with the PAM bug!

I have one on the way...

Besides a submersible rep, one of those radiomir tourbillon reps look pretty nice, too....

But I still hate panerai.
