I'm not too thrilled...

It arrived with the hand screw (or cap) floating around inside the dial / crystal. Apparently it became loose from "rough shipping"?

Also, the crystal scratched twice from light wearing for half of a day. The hands also seem very cheap.

I'm not sure if it's because this is my first rep or that I own gen Panerai's but I'm not too happy with this actual product for almost $400.00.

Am I crazy or can someone clarify why this rep is worth the cost...

PS - I contacted David and he is great by standing by his work. He offered a replacement, etc... so all is well on the sellers end. I'm just not too crazy on having to pay to ship back to hong kong.

Pics of what? I'm just asking about this watch's value in general. It look like any other DSN Egi.

Pics of the discrepancies:
The floating screw
The crystal's scratches
etc...

The gen has an acrylic crystal. The DSN model is the same. Most acyrlic scratches can be removed with scratch remover made by Brilliance. DSN also offers 2 movements for the 341. The hand wind is delicate for some reason. Don't know about the other. Probably not one of his best reps, but a very unique, historic watch.

The pearl just fell off after one day.

This is unbelievable...

Welcome to the rep game. The quality of these watches are inconsistent and if u r lucky or buys a watch from one of the maker that cares more about the quality, u get one with relatively little defects. I have bought many watches and DSN's quality has never been great or consistent to me all along. Only good thing is that he is responisve and will make good. You can try to repair with 2-part clear epoxy for the pearl. The cap can also be reattached with some as well. But you must be comfortable with working on watches. Or u can get someone to do it or sent it back for replacement.

Wow! That's really bad imo.

I don't have any DSN watches, but I do have 12 watches, including 4 pams, from different dealers with all kinds of movements and not one major issue yet. Maybe I've been lucky. Glad to hear DSN will fix the issue, but for the premium he charges I'm honestly very surprised.

Good luck in getting a satisfactory resolution.

DSN is top notch in my book... He is sending me a sapphire crystal for it along with some pearls.

He is extremely responsive and made good.

Good news CRSO. Do you have to find someone to put the crystal and the pearl in or does he have a repair guy in the States?

Interesting to see such poor quality from DSN....
I agree with you about the hands. They look VERY cheap.
And to have parts floating around inside the dial.. yikes.
And the mother of pearl marker missing already?
For the premium prices he charges, I'd expect more wuality.

But the good news is.. he's making it right. And that's says a lot.
Maybe he'll toss in an extra strap when he ships it back .
That would make you feel good about paying return shipping?????

I don't see a problem with the hands?

Yes, things can happen during shipping - not much DSN can do about that.

The pearl falling out is unfortunate, though. I haven't heard reviews from enough buyers to know if this is a widespread problem with this watch, or if you're just unlucky. Either way, a little epoxy and all should be well.

I'm going to do it myself. He made good on his end and is sending some pearls and a sapphire. More than I could ask... It's running a little fast for my likes but I think it's a well made piece.

Give it a couple of months, it might "settle in" at a slower rate. If it doesn't, have it adjusted then. Running fast is not a sign of movement troubles, usually.

Understood, however if you get it adjusted this early into the movement's life, you'll likely need to get it adjusted again several months down the road.

Whao, you're one unlucky dude :(

DSN builds his watches with parts that are way better than the average parts found in reps, so what happends to you is weird.

Glad he could sort this out anyway :)

EDIT: Just looked at the pics, seems like the top of the cannon pinion is broken. That's an easy fix, but you might want to tell him to send you one as well.
