First off let me say I just LOVE this place.
My wife watches her TV shows and I spend hours on here learning new things and reafirming things I already know.
I've found a Radiomir at a fair price. It needs TONS of mods and I'm ready to give it a whirl. Because it's going to be my first attempt at modding a watch, if (when) :) I destroy it I won't feel guilty.

Now here's where I need the experience from my fellow PAM replica fans.
The rivited strap blows.. is that nice to say on here? Ok, it sucks! :)
When I'm done with the mods and making the case look more vintage I really want to put on a more vintage looking strap.
I'm thinking a Gunny would look great.

How in the world do I put on a non-rivited strap? My PAM 190 has wire lugs and they are attached with screws.
Here are the pics of the watch and I have no idea how to remove those wlire lugs. Naturally I can see they're not welded..
Thanks guys...

If it's a 190, shouldn't it have four screws in the case back? One at the end of each lug end. You unscrew the screws and the lugs come out. I dont see any screws on yours?

That's not a 190 case, that's a "vintage" Radiomir case. I had one many moons ago from Josh. The lugs aren't welded, but they are non-removable, i.e. no spring bar middle pieces when you take the strap off.

Your only choice is to stick with the riveted straps, or send the whole watch off to a custom strap maker and have a strap sewn onto the lugs.

it must be old school. I would opt for silix case...for a vintage project. It has spring bars so you can change the strap. That way you can weld the lugs and have no issues :)
