I need help identifying pam // gen or rep

Hello everyone,

So today I went to a watch store which is also a Seiko AD, went there looking a specific old model, unfortunately the watch was out of it stock.

Before leaving the dealer remembered my PAM 456 Saudi boutique edition. So he asked me to look at this Pam he fixed and also trying to sell. He wasn't sure if it was a gen or rep, someone told him it's a rep because of the lugs were wrong, I told him I wasn't sure but I'll be happy to help and let him know.

I think it's 47mm because it way bigger than my 44mm. The strap has the Panerai logo and everyone but that thing was in bad shape , like it survived a war zone. The crystal is doomed but deeply scratched, no AR I think. The power reserve meter works but I didn't want to fully charge it in fear of breaking the watch or something. Honestly I don't who treats a watch like this.

Yeah I didn't find a model number when I looked at the case back. What do you mean by weir?

Weird... Models. Typo.
This Watch looks like an old old rep. Im not an expert but I would bet Rep before anything. Wait until others chime in with more experience.

Aha, the thing that made me say rep is the strap, as you can see it shorter than 26 mm. Thanks

Look at the back letters, pretty bad ones.
The movement is very bad rep one.
Also take a look at the quick release strap spots.
See how it looks like on a gen:

This is one of the worst PAM reps I've ever seen, it's a cheap piece of shit with no single redeeming feature. I don't even know what model it's supposed to be.

LOL I had a big feeling it was a rep but I have zero experience with the 47mm's and the case back having no model number and the serial was just too weird.

What pissed me off more that he got it fixed and then told the AD to sell it. And sometimes here in Saudi and the Middle East people don't like to set prices, they to here bids and bargains. And he left the watch there passing it off as gen until someone ignorant to buy it. That thing was ugly and dirty, didn't want to hold it more than 5 seconds.

But really thank you everyone for the help, couldn't have done it without you guys!

I've contacted the AD and notified him that's it's 100% fake. Guess who's getting a chunky discount on his next purchase [emoji23] LOL

It's one of the mid-grade 423 reps that came out last year -- really not that bad, but certainly not accurate.
