I am new to this forum so please go easy on me. At first i was set on a tag carrera but then i lurked over to the panerai section and the tag is going to have to wait. One problem, there are sooo many models and so many dealers with different products the search is only getting me more confused. I am in the price range of 100-250 and need a good automatic waterproof watch. I would like the watch to come with a quality rubber strap but eventually ill probably buy a leather black and brown.

Anyone have any experience or know about these watches?

This one i saw someone else review and it looks amazing but it says manual handwind movement? Does that mean its automatic but i have to wind it daily?

Thank you,

Aaron

The first two are self-winding and the third must be wound by hand.

The only way you should feel confident of their being waterproof is by having a watchsmith seal and test them for you, IMO.

These watches are pretty much assembled by people who are not skilled and there is no QC from the drop shipper such as Mark at Timeshops. That said, I have had no issues with Mark.

I have the third watch and it is a spectacular rep, IMO. I bought it from Mark.

I would get your third one (177) or look into a 005, 219 or 318.

No mods needed. Ooze of quality. You can't go wrong.

My 177L and 005K:

how often do you have to wind these handwinding watches. is the only difference between the 177 and the 005 the symbol on the 005? I really like this watch but im also interested to see if they have it in black. A lot of people are saying how good the quality is and i think this is the watch for me. Just curious if there are any pvd models are are also reliable and as good as this one

005 is steel and therefore much heavier than the 177 which is titanium.

You have to wind them every other day or so. Wind it in the morning when you are getting ready and you are good to go. Power reserve is usually 40 hours or so...

Most of my watches (my gens) are all automatics, but there is something sexy about a hand-wind.
