Sterile case, dial, hands, etc. with an Asian 7750 movement, and this joker wants $700 for it??? I offered him $70... he turned it down.

It sucks, but the seller can have any price he wants. Hopefully people will be able to do a quick goolge and it simply stays there at that price forever. Seller is taking the P*ss though for sure.

EDIT : just had a look at his website: His price is a little high on this watch, but if he does everything he says he does... would have been nice to see a better movement forinstance. Howevere also looks like he has done some nice upgrades. Superlumed, decent handset, better face, pressure tested and properly regulated. Please feel free to correct me on this, (he is a qualified watchmaker also) but those mods would cost about $300 plus the watch itself at 100. So he's not adding that much for his labour really?

It is pretty crappy that people are taken advantage of by these people. I understand the free market but come on.:lolcina:

Come on guys, he's a little high in price for my taste, but he seems to be putting plenty of labour into his pieces. Live and let live hey

He is, in my opinion, very much misleading people about the movement, and that is the most valuable part of this type of watch.
He's just ordering parts from China and assembling them. Probably about $150-200 in parts total, if that much. I doubt there's any superlume other than what comes on the hands and dial already, and greasing the seals and pressure testing is easy for anyone with the tools.
Basically, he's not doing anything beyond what hundreds of home-based modders on this forum do all the time, but he's trying to make it sound like more than it is and charging too much for it.

Yes - he can ask whatever he wants... I just think it's a rip-off.

Show me where you can get an a7550 and a spare case and hands for $ 70 and I'm in.

$ 700 is high, but $ 70 is an insult.

Are you being serious right now? So you think a gen Rolex costs $5k because the parts and the labour costs are about that? Come on dude, who the hell charges the same amount as what they put into something? Do you think our reps cost the same as what they are sold for?

When you buy a Rolex, you pay for the name. There is no "name" to speak of in this case, so price justification comes down to the quality of the parts and the build. I believe that was LMR's point.

And how do you know he doesn't produce those dials himself? I've never seen anything like that dial before

HAH! Swiss Made on a A7750 IWC Homage on Ebay? I don't doubt you haven't seen it before. There's a reason. :D

The guy can charge whatever he would like, but given the list of parts and materials, would you spend BK Yachtmaster money on this?

I'd say fair market would be around $300 - $350 if it wasn't new. $700 seems high though if someone likes the look, and doesn't know much about the movement, it will sell.
