Just like so many before me, I wanted to know WTF the deal was with these nasty, ugly, industrial watches was. But, now I don't just want one, I NEED one! So, thanks and I hate you!

I am curious why it seems that the movement in almost all auto PAM reps is the 7750. I have fallen pretty hard for the 104 which uses the 7750. Why not use a more cost effective alternative? Can the 21j and 2824s not do seconds at 9:00?

Thanks in advance, but I still hate you!

I am going to get the 7750 PAM104 when CNY delays are behind us. I understand that the 21j is a simple low beat relatively undesirable movement, but the 104 uses a solid caseback, so you can't see it anyway. Also, with the small circle on the seconds hand, you wouldn't see the low beat anyway.

Mostly the issue is that I am pretty new to all of this and have only really seen the 7750 in chronos. Why is it the best option here.

Well i dont know, i always had pams in my mind combined with manual wind movements... If you insint on auto you better go with 7750!

I believe it's more to do with date positioning than running seconds. As the 21j is a smaller movement it's more difficult to get the datewheel where it should be and also the correct datewheel overlay.

If you're going to spend the money on an accurate model it needs to be 7750/7753/6479 hi-beat.

Most of the non-chrono PAMs with automatic movt (104, 243, 312, 359) has a seconds running @ 9 o'clock that's why it might be easier for rep factories to put an A7750 than make an a21J or modify an ETA clone 2824 to have seconds @ 9.

Because most of the automatic gen non-chrono Pam (with Bettarini case) use the movement OPIII which is a Valjoux 7750

And with that, and the other informative advice that has been given, I have absolutely understand why they use the movement they do. Thanks for the info and I can't wait to post: "I hate you, but I just got a Pam104!!!"
