Damn those stupid strap bars on the PAM292!

I just received a new strap that I was trying on my 292 and I ended up chipping a bit off the ceramic case right at one of the strap bar holes. :frusty: I think I accidently forced that particular bar upwards because the strap was too thick when fitted and the upward pressure caused a small section of ceramic to "pop off".

Fortunately, it's only a cosmetic issue and the bars and screws all tighten up ok with the previous black calf strap re-fitted. I'm just very annoyed about it though. I'm so annoyed that I might even sell it for a cut-down price.

Did I mention that I was annoyed? :frusty:

Here's the damage.....

You can repaint/recoat the bar so that it will get rid of the exposed metal. A tiny flaw in my opinion and the gen will suffer the same fate also.

Thanks takashi. Yes, it's a small flaw and I can fix the bare metal ok. It looks worse in the pic than when wearing it in anyway.

Del, for a quick fix I'd use some J B Weld. It's an epoxy product, cheap, black(ish) & even machinable. A little dab of that, a quick sanding & you'll never notice.

Ok, so YOU will notice it taunting you, but no one else ever will.

+1 to this. I use JB Weld "quick" all the time for model repair. mix 2 equal dabs together, then apply it. Dries hard and sands easily. Color would be very close too

Missed this. I feel your pain Del, once you know something's there you can't get past it.

I have a slight scratch on the bezel of my Planet Ocean. It's so minor I could sell it as 'near mint'. I know it's there though and it pisses me off.

Thanks again guys. I touched up the bare metal on the bar and to be honest when the watch is on your wrist you don't notice the chip (unless you're looking for it of course!).

I'm going to hang onto the watch for now anyway and keep it on the black calf strap. ;)
