Well as u know angus asked me to pressure it up so i did various ways and i did it standard and then i left it under pressure for longer than standard and still i couldnt blow the crystal off or the crown out or the caseback loose, so i say lets go diving , lol

disclaimer: all i can tell u is how this particular watch in the pics handled the pressure , so dont come crying to me if u sink yours, lmao

also when people send me watches to do this job i normally only go half way , cause most will never go over 10 feet of water , lol

ok here goes , first i pumped it up to 3atm which is more than enough for the average swim guy and the results no bubbles around the crystal or the caseback or the crown
i placed watch in the container

i pumped it up to 3atm which is standard practice (also letting it sit there and be scared for a little while) and is plenty for most people

and now i lowered in the cold depths of the ocean, lmao

then i slowly released teh pressure gauge, at this point u look for bubbles , usually u will see bubbles escape tthe bezel and the bracelet pin and sometime underneath the crown and they look a bit different than a leak bubble , its a zen thing, lol

anyway it passed with flying colors , then i did that same test again , same results

now i said to myself angus would want me to blow this thing up , so i tried and here r the results

same thing i suspeneded it and pumped it up till i couldnt pump it no more, i almost turned the whole machine over pumping so hard, lmao it gets really tight when u go full blast , the only other watch that i had tried this with was a mbw drsd and it did fine as well

then i waited ample time and then i lowered the boom , and i was seriosly expecting it to make me jump , cause i thought for sure that crystal was going to pop off really hard, usually that is what happens when a watch is weak in a area, i remember the first time i just bout peepeed in my pants , cause u dont expect it the first time, u r looking really close and hard for bubbles and then boom the crystal come flying at u and it scares u senseless and then u laugh and hury to get it out of there and salvage it , lmao

anyway here it is under 6at doing just fine and saying give me some more u cruel person, lmao

then i did it again and same results , hope u enjoyed it as much as i did , kudos to Angus for providing us with such a workhorse of a watch

Good show Joe! I thought the movement gets taken out before a pressure test so it doesn't get ruined if things go bad? Or do you like living dangerously? 8)

actually under normal rule u leave whole watch intact after u water proofed it , then if u begin to see bubbles u simply pull it back up out of the water, there is plenty of time to do this without water getting in, but if your crystal blows off thats another story , u have to get the blow dryer out , lmao

btw 6atm equals 60 meters or roughly 200 foot

So, what about that 1000 rating?

Not quite true?

Or considering your test results, 200ft is enough ?

I say it is enough and way impressive for a rep.

....I was just curious have you ever tried to intentionally blow a crystal? Do they shatter or just explode? Thanks for the pressure test pics and lesson...so can a SeaDweller really go to 4000 feet? they call that saturation diving I think... :)

well the longer u leave it under pressure the more it builds up , and that is what i meant, also keep in mind im a happy guy so i joke alot , lol usually they do not shatter, most of the time when it happens the crystal simply comes off the case quite hard actually , has a alarming sound as well, scares u a bit

hope u understand

well if u ever go a 1000 meters without a submarine please let us know, lmao

but realistically im not a math wiiz but lets see if my math is correct, im for sure 3atms equal 30 meters, and im pretty sure there r roughly 3.33 feet in a meter times 30 equals roughly 100 foot , correct? then i double it , so that means 1000 meters equals roughly 3334 feet, which i dont beleive u can actually dive that deep without something other than a air tank on your back but i could be wrong cause im not a diver by any stretch, but i believe my friend dives alot and he doesnt go much more than that

at any rate most divers use a computer and not a watch so reallistically this watch is great for swimming , snorkeling , nude nite swimming in a pond and things like that , lmao

YES! That was my point last summer...

When I argued about the uselessness of having gen Seiss watches with the claim of super deep diving ratings when, in reality, no one would even bother sporting a Rolex or a B&R in depths of over 1000 meters and therefore I made the claim that gen Swiss companies only use such depth claims as a marketing ploy and nothing else!

I am right!!!

Yes, thank you Joe.

u r correct, my friend

maybe in the old days when computers were not around rolex had a nitch with the seadweller but i doubt it is any more than a fashion statement these days

but for us rep lovers its cool to know they r just as good , isnt it?
