I am really starting to like the Panerai's I see here especially the pam253 swiss ..
That is one smart looking watch , is it a good watch and are you guys happy with what you have received and from who or does it matter ??
I have never seen or heard of one before except for this forum ..

funny thing is i've only seen gen Pam's in AD's that sell Patek Phillippes - i haven't even seen it at any tourneau or other jewelry stores.

If you can find an AD and try them on... i tried one on and that's what convinced me to get one

Just remember this simple fact: 99.99% of the time, the person that is going to admire and look at the watch is YOU. So pick the one that you like best, no matter if it's a gen/rep.

My buddy has a gen IWC that looks like a cheap 'Alba' brand watch, but he adores it and wears it all the time; mind me, but I told him that I wont be paying that much for it. His answer was: "To each his own"

I think they were talking about trying one on at an AD to see how you like it. I did that before I ever bought a PAM rep. I have to warn you that trying one on can get you hooked in a bad way.

i had zero interest in pams until this board put an inklink of curiosity. Then seeing one through a window of an AD prompted me to try one on for the heck of it. Had no interest of getting one until i saw it on my wrist at the AD

now it's pam and strap fever.

here's mine..

i love it!! the case work is much better than the 212 asian i have..the hobnail is not as deep as the gen tho..and the blued chrono seconds hand is not gloss-opaque light blue like the gen..but it's still a great looker! keeping time well within COSC standards, abt -1s a day! tested and it's water resistant..

got mine from eddie lee, great dealer! A+++~! i'd suggest get the mineral glass version and change it to an AR sapphire once finepic's project is done..i've heard stories of the rep sapphire cracking on impact and complaints of distorted light reflections, etc..

there is no flyback mechanism to speak of.. bummer, cause it can be really useful to me.

that strap is a rep strap for tang but modded to fit the deployment. softens up really nicely!

have you looked at the 212? it's a more understated watch which some might prefer..

nope... haven't. will look it up soon, but that flyback of yours was what was reviewd in that watchtime magazine i was perusing through

no flyback huH? oh well, can't ask for everything still a great looker and fooled me good XD

oH, my mistake, it wasn't the regetta that was in the magazine but the 1950 flyback that was in the magazine. Either way, both are great lookers
