I am thinking about getting a Quartz chronograph b/c I have heard the Asian 7750 movements are unreliable. Does the movement of the second hand a lot of quartz chrono reps actually look real? Also, is it true that the 7750 movement breakdown easily? I want to have a fully functional Chronograph.

The newer version of the A7750 is supposed to be fairly reliable now. I've had no probs with my BCE, just remember not to change the date between 9 and 3 ...

I have a great chrono avenger with quartz. The beautiful thing many were made with quartz movements. It's one of my favorite watches. The A7750 is dependable. Avoid the seconds at 6 on the slower beat movements.

i had a rep quartz, never no problem....always on time, no need to adjust it. no costly repairs. a battery every 2 years. thats it.

The stopwatch will tick. Not a bg deal. But the OS20 movement will have the seconds running @6 rather than 9

I have owned quartz rep chronos and the big advantage is the second hand is so small no one will notice. Some of the gen manufacturers produced quartz watches so there is also the advantage of the rep not being incorrect. I personally do not care for quartz watches for the most part, but it is nice having a watch in your box that you can just throw on and run.

I have/had :( a mechanical Navitimer SS, dials at 6, 9, 12. I checked the chrono when it arrived over a year ago, and probably used it a couple more times afterwards. It reset permenantly to the right, the 6 o'clock dial hand dropped off recently and mysteriously, the stem is all wonky when you wind it. I'm gonna try a quartz version if I can get one. I'm a bit scared of mechanical chronos at the minute. :?

They've made several models over the years. The Colt, The Emergency line uses quartz. There are others. Just shows you how when people really need to kepp time they go with quartz.

The 7750 movements are no less reliable than any other asian movement we have access to, as with all repls, is the luck of the draw. Each one I have had has worked perfectly.

Most of the quartz Breitlnigs are not very good quality, however some of the other quartz watches being released are using a much better case set, so keep your eyes peeled as there may be some bargain watches around!

The one thing to bear in mind is that it will feel awfully light when compared to its auto counterpart, for me that would ruin a Breitling

I just ordered my first replica in quartz from watcheden...

i've always wanted a breitling SS with utc...soooo - i ordered the chrono avenger SS with UTC...model #18135...

i just ordered it two days ago, so nothing to report...

(i also ordered a sweet HBB SS)...grrrrrrreat pricing on quartz replicas and from my research on rwi, rwg, repgeeks, etc -- these are pretty nice...

enjoy - R
