Welcome buddy,
I used to pay 4k for a gen Cartier before I knew what the hell was inside. After I found out you can get one 98% identical, but more importantly, with SAME freakin' movement(!!!!!), I was PISSED!!!!
It's like buying a 60K Porsche boxter with a V6 250HP(ish) engine, when you can get a customized turnkey rep '57 Shelby Cobra with V8 380HP engine for 40K.
the analogy is not exactly the same here, but you get the point. Welcome to RWI, and you'll get some quality timepieces for a lot cheaper. After awhile, you learn that it's not about looking like a tool with a Rolly on your wrist, rather understanding the true value of a movement. Don't get me wrong, gen will always be gen. However, this is going to be a dangerously fun hobby.
Welcome to the truly Daaaark Side
