More like "War Machine" (Iron Man buffs will get that reference)

I saw a post in "Other brands" by Yannou a couple weeks back and decided I needed this beast of a watch. Lucy came thru is record time with the watch talking just 6 days to arrive.

I had never seen on in the flesh and while I admired pictures in magazines and forum member reviews nothing prepared me for how big a watch it is.

After fumbling with the deployant clasp (that is different than any other I have seen) I was able to try it on for the first time.

Since my camera phone takes lousy pics I did a little photo shoot using my slightly better digital:

I do like the face. The double AR gives the crystal a bit of a blue aura but the face is panda all the way.

The clasp is quite complicated and requires a little wriggling to get your hand in it. I have a 7" wrist and this is as big a watch as I could ever hope to get away with. Might even be a bit too big for me. The tip of the strap fits into the rubber keeper and hides between the wrist and and other half of the strap as seen here:

The watch uses Allen screws in a lot of the places and I was warned by other members to make sure to tighten the up. They are metric sized and my N. American set had one that worked but not perfectly. Turns out they were a bit loose (Thanks for the heads-up guys) In close inspection the Allen screw "holes" are a little rude but you'll need a loupe to notice that.

The watch is an exercise in what it is to be over-built. Lots of metal and blended with the rubber and the signature Hysek "H" incorporated on the strap (quite cool as the H's are made of brushed stainless) Its a little "pinchy" on the back of the wrist but not bad.

The bezel has an elaborate locking mechanism that simply needs to be pulled up to allow the bezel to spin (it has a nice feel)

Glass back and they did their best to polish up the innards and the rotor (which spins beautifully I might add) Overall case work, lettering and etching is pretty decent.

The face is gorgeous (The high point in my opinion) although I am told the Hysek logo is positioned below the date window on the gen. It looks very nice under high magnification. The raised texture / relief is beautiful. Hands and sub dials are all very nice even under high magnification.

When I said it was big I wasn't kidding. Compared to my TT it's like a can of Tuna! (You can really notice the blue hue from the AR in this pic)

All in all its a very novel piece.

A couple issues... the lume is very weak. Just the hands and tiny dots above the markers.

And I find the crown a bit sloppy / loosey-goosey when pulled out all the way.

Yannou said he could not change the date with the stem. I had no problem. There is a recessed case pusher at 10:00 which is a date quick-set and that is a welcome feature.

The chrono pushers have a nice solid feel and have good screw-down just like the crown (which is nicely detailed)

This watch would look great on a big wrist and on a big man. If you have Popeye forearms this is the watch for you. Would also go great with tattoos in my opinion. It's heavy metal with a bit of "Minority Report" rolled into the look and feel.

Lucy waterproofed it for me at not charge which was a nie plus as it was not a cheap watch at about $420 CDN ($400US) all in.

Look forward to wearing this one on my next trip to Cuba. Damn thing might pull me to the bottom though.

Do I recommend this watch? Absolutely.

Cheers!

Luth. Do you mean copy the post and put it there as well or move it from this section?

No, just post your impression of the Dealer's service, a few words and pictures of the watch, that's it.

Love it!
It looks big next to the TT, but it seems to fit perfect on your wrist.
Judging from the pictures it looks great on your wrist, not too big. :)

Nice review, love the panda dial. Was looking to pick one up awhile back and remember there were a lot of gen straps for them on the bay reasonably priced.

I would buy a gen strap if they were not too pricy but with all it's bells and whistles, ropes and pulleys (LOL!) I would expect a Gen deployant clasp would be around $500-$600 if not more.
