To begin, I would like to give a very special and heartfelt thank you to KOT1917 for his help and guidance! I have another PAM438 from Chazingtime on the way and will leave a review for that once that arrives.

In terms of the PAM111, I got this beautiful piece modded from BK. He did the following mods:
- Fix up the swan-neck/swan-neck screw/dagger so they are all touching one another.
- Put Loctite Threadlocker Blue Removable on the swan-neck microscrew.
- CG screws.

As a Paneria newbie, this beautiful watch has left me speechless - made me gain appreciation for the size and brand as a whole as this sits extremely nice on the wrist. By no means am I a Panerai expert, but I think BK did a great job of fixing up the common flaws with the HWF model.

Your next step is change the rep leather strap, it'll push your panerai to a whole new level of awesomeness

Beautiful watch, my first Pam was the 111 and also made me appreciate the brand. As shyreplover said a new strap will be a game changer.

Congrats for your 1rst Pam (is it the 1rst?) Either it's gen or rep, the 1rst feeling with a Pam is always incredible. The 111 is a classic and will ever be. Nice mod by BK btw, and as said above changing for proper straps will get it to another level (mostly the classic genuine black rubber Panerai strap, a must have for the 111 IMO).

Welcome to the wonderful world of Pam addiction, it's just the begining and the 438 is just gonna make it worse lol. (I also have a new one on the way after regretting selling mine 2 years ago ;) ).

Congratulations on your purchase!
I really hope that you will be happy.

Teamjlf lf, The micrometer screw is short and does not always reach the dagger of the regulator, which would be pointless if the swan neck was functional.
Also, some 6497 pams (particularly noob) often had this screw fall out, so he also uses a fixator just in case.
As a result, the screw stands firmly, and comes into contact with the dagger, as if pressing on it, fixing it, as it should be, when setting it up.

1 photo as it happens before correction.
2 photo of how it looks when corrected.
3 photo how it looks on gen.

Replica oblivion…
OK I see what you mean now. I just checked my Sugess ST19 chrono and can see the adjuster screw firmly against the swan neck.
Does this PAM have a functional swan neck adjustment ? or is just decoration.

Any recommendations? I was looking at some straps on Puretime but would love to hear your feedback
A good start would be to check the strap maker/seller in supporting vendor section.
There are many to choose from depending on your taste & budget. Cheap doesn't always mean inferior.
Panerai is versatile watch, looks good in rubber, croc, leather, canvas. Go browse members' pictures to get some idea.

Glad you were able to shed some light on this. :)

Briefly, then - no, on rep 6497 the swan neck is not functional, and even the "micrometric screw" is not really a screw, but simply placed in this hole, so there is a risk that it will fall out.
You may also notice that, with the exception of some manufacturers , the screw is often too short, has a pointed end, and has no holes for the fine adjustment lever.

I recommend reading more about this in the sticky threads of the PANERAI section:

Off topic, I don't know your watch, but judging by the fact that they use ST19, your swan neck is also decorative, just maybe a little more neat. I will not say, but as far as I know, this movement should be regulated by other bodies.

Very true! Talking with Panatime now and will be ordering soon - seems like a whole new addiction of its own haha! So many choices
