Actually I found the rubber strap of the U2 to be quite nice. Easy to trim, unfortunately there is no way back ...

I did that to a blade once... It happened while trying to saw through someone's femur bone. Neither the blade or the leg was ever the same again.

For femurs there are dedicated saws. I hope you administered a good narcotic to the person *before* :chatterbox:

I should have added that I cut off one segment too many. Now it is too tight, when worn over a longer time. This really sucks.

Looks like you have three choices:
Ask your dealer for a replacement rubber
or
Go for a nice alternative strap
or
Sell to someone with smaller wrists

It's a good looking watch on the original or aftermarket strap.
Here's mine ...

I choose option 3 (replacement leather) and option 4 (bang head on wall and say three times: I must not castrate my rubber strap)

I have a SINN on the way. It is a shame that there are no micro ajustments on the clasp (same as gen ). This way you could set the clasp to the tightest position and then loosen it if you overcut. i will cut mine very carefully and consider the fact that my wrist swells in the summer or gained weight etc. I think the gen rubbers are the cost of the 21j SINNs $120 so you can't get it from Sinn for less $. You might want to try a nylon maratac or the diver strap from panatime or a Ebay seller. Be carfull that sellers never tell you to lenght of the strap and often times I get one to short. panatime has a chart on his website to help you.

One thing that I will do is to install velcro tape on the inside of the strap so as to make it smaller when i size it. velcro has two sides the hard side and the softer side. I will use thesofter side with the double side tape. Then wera it to see how it feels but on the lose side.

Good idea!

The Sinn rubber strap has a working divers extension (which feels very good, btw). But it is no micro adjustment.

I went for a leather strap with red stitching, that spoke to me since the beginning.
Even if I would have liked the rubber, I could not wear it, as with the the shortest setting it's still too big for me.
As PCSAM said, I have a spare strap + clasp, if anyone's interested. Might go in the sales section when I have time to shoot pics.

Wait for the steel bracelet in 2 months.

Still far to much $. I suggest waiting for the Rep Bracelet that should be available by the end of 2009. In the meantime I would put on a maratac nylons two piece rubber strap $20 . In two months check the dealers to see if the bracelet is available.

Hmm... Looks like the Small Deployant is back in stock, for EUR 95. Perfect for tiny-wristers who are serious about their Sinn reps.

I wish I hadn't clicked on the link, though. Now I really want a U1 Weiss!
