Hi all,

Had a bent stem on my Hublot BB Black Magic V6 for a couple of months and avoided wearing the watch with a view of getting it repaired. I wore it once and as I went to set it, the crown came off in my hand.

I have managed to melt the thread lock/glue on the crown and remove the broken piece so the crown itself can be repurposed, and I have managed to release the remaining snapped piece of stem attached to the movement by pulling it out through the crown tube with needle nose pliers whilst pressing the release.

I have now removed the movement from the watch and cleaned all of the case up, but my problem lies in finding a replacement stem for a Hublot BB V6...I believe it's an A7750 movement, but upon discussing with Ryan at Intime it seems that he cannot source a replacement stem.

Am I completely stuffed here or is there any way of me sourcing a stem for this, either through another TD, or through any other source? I really don't want to accept that it is a goner with something so simple...

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

J

You can search on AliExpress. There are ETA 7750 replacement stems available. The threaded part has to be trimmed off to ensure that your crown can be screwed down.

apottedplant Brilliant, thanks. I’ve ordered one from Aliexpress.

Any ideas on how to trim the thread down? A file or is there a quicker/easier way?

Cheers,

J

jonnygee I just used a scissor to trim off the excess length, pretty straightforward. No filing needed.

You should be careful of how much to trim though. Can't undo it, so trim off less than what you think you need at the first go. Good luck!

apottedplant Thanks. I've ordered a pack of 2 so hopefully will be ok but glad to hear you managed to do it with scissors, there is hope yet! I'll let you know how I get on when the bits arrive...
