it's all subjective as almost everything else 
In my opinion, it's worth the extra premium!
The embossed calf is sort of a 'rep-croc' strap, and the GEN is the real croc strap

As I suggested in your other thread, why don't you try on a croc-strap GEN Cartier or PAM in your local AD
..just to see if you like? It won't hurt, and you'll 'feel' it in person
I have already tried on a gen croc at Panerai AD...
Yes, they were nice and soft (a bit stiff), but very expensive feel..

Ha Ha :shock: :!: In that case it is a supercalifredjulisticexpealidocious (sp?) strap as I own several and they are quite cozy on the wrist
