Hello folks, couple months lurker here and i was curious did you guys often got asked about your watch? (With friends, coworker, family, etc.)
Well, i got asked several times a week by meeting with new people and a little bit tired answering all of those questions. Hahahhaha

What are your response?

Your friends, coworkers, and family are the people that can easily call you out. So you either lie and keep up the charade or just come straight out and say it's fake.
  1. Co workers - know how much you relatively make and your position.
  2. Family/close friends - know your wealth level/finances (not specifically, but generally). Imagine suddenly showing up one day driving a new car. That's essentially what rolling up wearing a luxury watch is like.

What were the questions?
- where did you get your watch?
- is that a rolex?
- how much do you pay for it?
- is that genuine watch?
Most of the times around those questions,
and yeah as @Reaps said, the obvious call out was my daily routine doesn't represent the reps i wear.

And of course i straight up said it was reps all along, but really enjoy the time i'm wearing my rep watches.

3. Not more than I should have
4. In some places, it will be seen as such

Just don't attract unwanted attention by wearing unbelievable watches that don't match you lifestyle. No matter how good the rep is, you're going to get shit on if you wear a $100k Patek or a RM tourbillon if you're in college and driving a honda.

If you drive a well maintained car and rocking a rep rolex nobody is going to question if its real or fake. If its a Hulk or Pepsi then someone who knows they're in short supply might ask you how much you paid for it or how you managed to get it, but that's up to you if you want to wear a model that's hot right now.

Don't necessarily agree. Even if they don't ask, if you wear a Rolex rep the vast majority of people will assume it's fake regardless, or at least will doubt its authenticity.
OP, wear what you like and tell them it's a rep if it doesn't bother you. You have to enjoy the watches, forget the rest.

I don't know if anyone will notice, or ask, but "it's a replica" will likely be the first words out of my mouth. I used to be into antique fountain pens and modding them was, for me, one of the best parts of the hobby. Having a rep that can be modded is supremely appealing to me.

- where did you get your watch? I robbed an AD downtown last night.
- is that a rolex? How the freak would I know?
- how much do you pay for it? How much does a Glock 17 Gen 5 plus 19 rounds 9mm parabellum cost?
- is that genuine watch? My pistol is genuine.

Are my answers wrong enough?

This. More often than not it is how you carry yourself overall.

At same time, as Feefo have stated just wear and enjoy it.

The cardinal "rule" is that you, the wearer, are the biggest tell.
Having said that, you also "can't judge a book..." you know the rest. The guy in a sloppy outfit driving a used Toyota just might be a nerdy tech millionaire who holds onto every penny... Just sayin'.

- where did you get your watch? Well, it wasn't Walmart.
- is that a rolex? It's not a Timex.
- how much do you pay for it? More than a Timex
- is that genuine watch? Yes, it is indeed a watch.

With regards to Q3, I recall a Dear Abby response to someone who asked what to say when faced with a rude question. Abby said, " Just ask them (incredulously) 'I'm sorry, what did you say??'" With that response, most ppl will realize how out of bounds the question is and say, "Nevermind!"
Works like a charm for all rude questions.
