How waterproof is your Rolex rep?

Could you share your experiences when it comes to waterproofing and these reps. I know dealers advertise on some certain depths but I want to see if anyone has had any problems with specific builds and this. I'm planning on buying a rolex and will be doing normal swimming (no more than 8 feet of water) because I wanted the watch to also be a daily wearer.

Wherever you get your rep from, even if it is advertised as water resistant, have it tested. You can also silicone grease the seals and make sure the crystal is pressed yourself if you are a bit handy. If you get a model with a Helium release it will most likely need sealing(DSSD) You may be lucky and it will be OK from the dealer but you are taking a chance if you don't check first before getting it wet. Internal quality control is very hit or miss so there may even be seals missing or damaged. The Submariner is usually a good model to use daily or for getting wet once checked over.
Good luck!

Here's mine, wore it for two weeks in pool and sea every day during that time with no issues. Came waterproofed from TD.

Obviously before I use it again on in water on holiday (it's been a year) it's worth me having a new waterproof test done locally to be sure it's still air tight)!

Most of mine are tested to 200 meters.

Thanks for the feedback. My only experience with reps have been canal street copies and those are extremely water phobic lol.

I wear mine, swimming regularly, although have had them waterproof tested before I have used them in the water, some may come waterproof, some may not, definitely get it tested before you go swimming with it.

If You look around a bit You get the classic BP Seadweller 16600 "waterproof from factory to 100m". Check it first but its already prepped for getting wet. It´s the one I trust most when it comes to water. Some silicone grease on the crown at least from time to time. HE valve is set on, doesn´t go through the case, so no saturation diving with this one :). Don´t rely on a rep for diving anyway - take it just for fun.

Hi,

Call me stupid, call me brave or both. I got the DssD the same day took the back off and put some Vaseline and put it on the gasket, then the crown and went for a swim in the sea/pool and nothing has gone wrong but saying that I can't say the same for my GMT II :(((

Here is the DssD....

P.S I have no idea the maker of this DssD, but I know one thing it is not a very good copy.....

does sea water damage the case, bracelet, etc?

I did have an interesting problem with my Great White Sea Dweller. Case is waterproof and no problems there but the spring in the bezel assembly is steel and it rusts very nicely, especially in salt water. I would imagine that could happen with a lot of reps that use a metal spring in the bezel
