I just received my Pelagos with the MY9015 movement but can't seem to get the movement going.

I tried winding it many times 40+ rotations...

Should just be a wind in the standard position (can't Remeber if that one is even threaded). You might need to also give it a bit of a shake after you wind it to get them going sometimes.

Gently slap it against the palm of your hand a few times to dislodge the the dog hairs and pork bits from the balance.

Dont you mean dog and cat bits? Dog is very lean...

you are rotating it clockwise and not CCW right? Try wearing it for a few mins and see if it starts to work.

I have been rotating it clockwise and even gave it a few light hits and it still does not work. It now makes an unnatural rattling sound. TD told me to send it back to him but I am unsure on what to do.

Take the back off and have a look, could be a loose movement holder screw or tab that’s jamming the balance, I would advise having it inspected locally if possible - it is a Miyota movement so a good watchsmith should be comfortable working on it. I would send it back as a last resort since it’s CNY and repairs take forever even without that delay. Make a ball of duct tape, sticky side out, and use that to unscrew the back.

The rattling sound is at rest or while you are wearing it or hand winding?
I agree with Hor-Fan, you re best bet is to pop the back off and have a look inside, might be an easy 2min fix. If not then determine if you would rather pay a few bucks to have someone look at it to see what's wrong and how much to fix it correctly or send it back.... personally I don't like the idea of sending it back plus with a watch Smith looking at it you can tell yourself that you now know the movement is clean and properly lubed and is good to go until the next servicing.
