How to swap in gen dial with feet removed?

I have a 1675 gen root beer dial... removed the feet. Looks like it is the right size for one of the movements I have, but now I have to attach it some way. What is the preferable way to adhere the dial to the movement?

most simply glue it down to the spacer ring in between the dial and the movement ,, just make sure u dont glob it up there, i prefer 5 min epoxy and a tiny screw driver to smear a light even smooth bead all the way around the ring and make it were the glue barely comes in contact with the edge of the movement ,, in other words do not let it get on the datewheel or run into the movement and try not to get none on the holes where the feet originally went

Dial dot stickers are really simple to use. You could also try and reattach feet that match the new movement. That's harder, but you will get a tighter fit.

Wow... hadn't even thought about gluing to the spacer ring. Genius.

I will also look for these dial dots. Assuming they would also attach to the spacer.

Thanks a lot guys.

Kbh made a template to reattach the dial feet back to the gen dial using the eta positions. You can try to contact him. Actually i am in the exact same position as you as i have a gen datejust dial i need to attach to an eta movement. Let me know how you make out

i should probably state when i give u my way of doing things is just that my way , lol i have to put in a disclaimer , if u do it the way i do then i cant be held liable if something goes wrong, i can only tell u the way i do things and i would proudly say my way has worked for over 10 years now with very little problems but keep in mind im very experienced in doing this ,, so u may want to do the dot adhesives in your case ,, i can say my way is easier for me and u can get the glue at your local lowes or walmart and not wait for shipping of the adhesive dots ,, i never used the adhesive strips or dots so i cant tell u how they are , but if they are like the adhesive tape they use to hold bezels in i dont like them , eventually they have a better chance to come apart on a bezel ,, dial probably not cause its protected ,, but i repeat use the two part epoxy not superglue or something that sets fast and flaky if u choose my way

The dots attach the dial to the movement directly. Just look for some clear space on the top plate. Find like three different spots. You can stack the dots if you need.

OK. So, this thread inspired me to finish a 6538 project using dial dots (which you can find at Ofrei or any similar outlet)...

Here you go:

1. Find some clear space on the top plate of the movement and affix 3+ dots. I made stacks of two. In this case I also removed the datewheel because it's not used in a 6538.

2. Attach the dial to the movement, making sure it's aligned properly with the stem.

3. Set the hands.

4. Case the movement.

5. Enjoy the watch! (Gratuitous wrist shot).
