Hi friends......this might sound so stupid but......how should i setup the GMT hand on the ultimate explorer 2 with the cloned 3187 movement? When i setup time from crown the GMT hand moves with the other hands.....
Thanx

pull the crown to the date set position and turn it opposite of the way you change the date; one direction changes the date, the other should move just the gmt hand.

With that having been said, there are multiple ways to manage the 24-hour hand. I prefer to set it to GMT (UTC), then use the rotating bezel to reflect the 24-hour time in your local zone, or wherever else you might happen to be.

That way, the 12-hour hand will always show your "home" time, and the 24-hour hand will show whatever you want it to (based on where you set the bezel).

Whoa... They cloned the GMT movement? Does it have the jumping hour hand when you set it?

Just the asian GMT 2836-2 has it (jumping hand) like the original. The swiss eta GMT 2836-2 its not "jumping".

So you are saying this new cloned 3187/6 is really what movement? I'm just wondering really and I would be quiet surprised if they actually cloned it and if its reliable.

I have the exp ii with gen swiss movement and GMT mod the GMT hand jumps in one hour increments. The gen Rolex movement I believe the hour hand jumps not the GMT. This is so that you keep the GMT hand on home time and set the regular hands to whatever local time is without hacking the movement.

Bonesey it right, my mistake, in the Gen, jumps the hour hand, in the asian 2836-2 the gmt its the one that jumps.

Yes. Correct, this is what I was talking about... Which is why I was asking the OP if his watch hour hand jumped when setting it.

Still don't know..

Possibly the slickest function I've ever come across. I miss my 16570 cause it was just so damn cool in that respect.

If it indeed does, setting it is a tad different than most GMT watches.
