Hey guys, i'm trying to seal and test my UN, but can't figure out how to remove the stem from the movement.

Here's a photo of the movement with the caseback removed. How do I remove the stem?

Thanks!

See where the stem threads disappear under the bridge about a 1/4 of the way up the movement? Look to the right of that and up just a tiny bit and you will see a hole with a tiny pin in the center of it. OK now once you find that VERY VERY CAREFULLY push that pin in as you are pulling the stem out BUT and this is a HUGE BUT..it is super easy to push too far and screw the keyless movement up..so remember it only need be pushed the least bit so proceed with caution.

Ok cool...so is there anything else I have to worry about with this movement? Do I need to "hack" the movement before taking the stem out? Do I need to press that pin in again to re-insert the stem?

That would be a must...just pull it all the way out,,,GENTLY push the release pin...work it back and forth while you pull it out....then you should be able to just GENTLY twist it back in till it sorta snaps into place and seats...spin it round and make sure all postitions work and your good to go.

Ok here's another question...what happens when you 'overwind' this movement?

I was winding the movement and the power reserve is almost full...but screwing in the crown also winds the spring...so now the power reserve shows full wind, but I can't screw in the crown without winding it some more. Will that do damage to the movement or PR dial?

No. As has already been mentioned, just "gently" push the pin down and pull the stem out from the winding position. Use the correct size screwdriver as indicated by the release slot...if you push the pin down too far you run the risk of tripping the keyless works and you'll be pulling the mvt., hands, dial, DW and bridge/cover to reset them...NO fun. No need to press it in again when putting it back in. And no, you're not going to "overwind" the mvt. when screwing the crown back in. It's designed to slip, preventing overwinding by both the crown and the rotor.

Ok, the watch seems to be keeping good time but my PR dial is not working properly now. The PR used to read "0" when it was dead, now it reads about 10%.

I wound it up just a bit to see if it runs itself down...if it doesn't, is this something easily fixable if sent to a watchsmith?

From what i understand the pin that was mentioned to be pushed in...actually should be slid like a leaver. I have a super similar 21j movement like this one. But thats all i know. i screwed mine up putting the pin back in.
