How to remove screw pins in band?

Hey all, I got my new Breitling Navi back (it came DOA the first time) and I was going to resize it but I have only dealt with standard pins until now. I removed the screw head with a jewelers screwdriver but the remaining portion of the pin was in there rather firmly. I thought I would ask on here before I went applying excessive pressure to it. Also, it is not a huge deal but it seams the slide rule within the bezel is stuck so when I spin it, the outer ring turns but the outer dial does not. Any simple solutions for that? I am not sending this watch back a 3rd time unless I absolutely have to. Thanks again.

Can't help with the bezel, bt to remove links you have to take out two of the screws at a time ...........each link has two screws holding it together........remove two screws side by side, pull that piece off, and you will see that tubes are attached to the opossite side link..........it all slides out, tubes and all.........the key is two screws to remove one link.

Perfect, I didn't realize the bottom was a base with 2 pins and the top was basically a cap. That was a piece of cake. I got a little nervous when all the band link pieces separated but they are easy to rearrange and put back together. Thanks again. I will never use the slide rule anyway so I am not too worried about it. It would be nice if it worked though.

I got 3 new reps today. My round two of my Navi, an IWC Portugal 3-9 reserve and a 1945 military Rolex (super simple with no second hand). Love them all.

Thanks again,

unfortunately you will need to send it back. the bezel assy is complicated and isn't something you want to mess with. they will need to change the case as it comes to them assembled with the crystal already installed. the crystal will have to be removed in order to even mess with the slide rule. it is pressure fit into the bezel assy so if it is loose and not turning with the bezel there is a real problem. tell them to make sure the bezel assy on the new case is not loose and spins freely. it should be firm to turn and not loose feeling. there have been problems with this on these watches in the past.

who did you buy the watch from and why has it been sent back twice if it was received doa? didn't they fix it the first time?

I got it from Ruby. The first one was DOA so I sent it back and she sent me a new/fixed one. That is the one I have now. The slide rule spins now once it cooled down. It was really hot when I got it (sitting in a mail truck all day). Now when I spin the bezel, the slide spins as well. However, sometimes when I turn it, the slide inside will slip a little within the bezel, meaning if I turn the bezel 90 degrees, the slide will only turn about 80. So it is a little loose. I really am not looking forward to sending it back a third time. Eating international shipping cost twice is going to get old...

the slide rule has a plastic ring under it between it and the dial so it will stay in place and tight. here is a picture of how it is made. you will have to remove the movement and crystal. then remove the slide rule and tighten the 3 screws under it. personally i would either send it back or have her send you a new case assembly that is tight. you can r and r the movement and bracelet, it's fairly easy to do.
