Hello everyone, newbie here 😊.

Wondering how you can order a dial from MQ ? I've been trying the contact form and the email address over on his site but never got a reply.

http://www.vintagewatchesmq.com/

I'm also curious to see some pictures of actual MQ dials installed in watches.

Finaly, does he also makes dials for ETA 2824 movement, or is there another maker you would recommend.

Thanks a lot for the help 🙏.

My experience with MQ was similar to your except I received a reply that had nothing to do with my question and what I needed. Unless MQ had something specific that you need I would order from Phong or another source instead.

I have dealt wit him about 5 years ago. I think I just contacted him via email on the site. paypal pmt and dial received. no issues.

At that time the 6350 explorer dial was super rare and he was the only one that offered a honeycomb dial for $$$ I have no idea what his prices are like these days as they were expensive back then.

No ETA options, his dials are aftermarket replacements for gen watches.

The quality was nice but the lume was very delicate and it started to flake off just over a year later. quite disappointing for the price.

He will reply, probably some light spamming will work. Very pricey dials though.

Thank you for the imput 😊.

Got a reply from MQ. Now his dials are for the gen Rolex movements and not for others. He can make a custom dial for ETA movements, but the price is $1200 😅.

Still interested in seeing some MQ dial on watches. Anybody has a 16800 Comex dial installed ?

Shave the feets , spacer and some double sided tapes ? 1200 is ridiculous

MQ quality is high… if you want to spend less.. there are other dealers.

MQ is high quality but...I cannot speak for his Rolex dials but I have a Tudor MQ dial and even under 8x magnification I cannot tell the difference between it and a Phong dial. Maybe there are minor nuances of the printing that I am not aware of that make it better. I recall reading something on Rolex Forum about when the shape of the “S” in Submariner looks more like a “Z” then something else is supposed to be spaced a certain way. Crazy specific shit like that that 99.9% of experts wouldn’t even know. Now if I had a gen watch or a heavy franken (gen movement and case) and was looking for a replacement dial I might go with MQ.

Didn't mean to hit post right then...

If you are building a rep with a ETA 2824 movement I would go with another Vietnam vendor and use the money saved for other upgraded parts on the watch. Gen crown, bezel insert, etc.

Thanks guys.

@5digit4ever is that a 16800 (I guess so from your forum name 😁) ?

I have a similar build in the works, everything gen except the mid-case. For the moment I have a gen dial on it with the white gold markers but wanted to change for a MQ early 1980 dial, as I prefer the more vintage style.

Thanks a lot for the pictures, they are exactly what I was looking for.

Yep this was meant to be a 16800. Sounds like you’ve got a great build going!
