How to make a good polish on PVD case with Cape Cod?

Hi guys, recently I read about making PVD case to look patina.

Do you have any tips or recommends to use Cape Cod to do this work? like how hard you polish, polish wash w/detergent and polish again ..

Distressing is not aomething I ever mess with so I can't help with that. What I know is a Cape Cod will not accomplish the desired effect.
