How to know which TD to use?

I've been lurking for some time & am finally ready to take the leap of trying to buy my first rep. For my initiation if figured to start simple with a submariner.

My question is of all the TDs, how do you pick which one to use? I've read reviews amongst almost all of them - most are positive, some are mixed. It seems like some of them have a lot higher prices than others, all the while still having the same cusomter feedback of largely positive with the mix thrown in. Do you look for whoever is the cheapest? Something else? Want to make sure I get it right the first some so hopefully I can just become a repeat customer for someone. Thanks!

You give it a shot. That’s how.
Everyone has different experiences.

The Staff makes sure all of them are reliable and you get what you pay for.

Some are more newbie friendly, some are cheaper, many don’t communicate very well and are transactional

There is often a correlation between price and service, but some people have different perceptions of what is service

My advice to you is to remember the nature of what you are buying…and that those guys are not luxury Main Street retailers…

A more practical advice. Look at the TDs who engage with the community by providing reviews of new releases with in depth pics etc. Those tend to have the better customer service and newbie friendliness

To add to the above: before you order a watch from any TD always send them an email first to ask about the availability and wait time for the watch you want to buy, and include the link to the watch on their site. Some dealers have discontinued watches still listed for sale as it takes time to remove them.

Interestingly, I tried to WhatsApp one of the TDs per your suggestion, and it got my WhatsApp account banned all the sudden

For my first I used The One Watch, they were friendly, answered all my questions and walked me through the process. For first time buyers they were great with me.

Price and your previous experience which doesn't really help for the first one.
