How to fix loose CG lever?

I just got a PAM 177H in the mail and the CG lever is very loose, can almost flop around on its own and does not lock in. I've read this is somewhat of a common problem with the 177h's. Is there an easy way I can fix this, or will I need to upgrade with a new crown from davidsen?

It's funny you should ask this. I have noticed that my Daylight was very stiff to close, which I really liked but in the last week or so it got real loose. As I read your thread I thought you could just sand down a little off the edge that meets the watch thus making the CG sit closer to the wheel and making it tighter. As I was looking at my daylight and 111 thinking about my theory I saw that the CG screw was loose. THANKS for asking this question, helped me fix my Daylight!!! :D

Try thghtening up th CG, the 2 screws that hold it on the case might have come loose and will effect the lever.

Some have suggested applying loc-tite superglue to the screws and tighten down into the cg.

Not sure I wanna superglue my screws in, though....

The CG lever on my 177H rep came loose from the factory, as well.

I noticed they did the same trick with adding an extra o-ring seal to the crown, just as Enzo explained - nevertheless the lever was still just a tad loose.

I then attempted something you should decide upon carefully taking into consideration all odds against you - finely sanded down the Ti CG feet. I spent over an hour for taking few microns off those feet. It wasn't actually that hard as those factory CGs have very rough finish - all I did was I made it smoother by sanding the rough surface bits off. The lever now closes tightly against the crown :D

I suggest you get the fine sanding block, take your time, and slowly and patiently sand of a very thin layer off the CG.
Just make sure you don't overdo it and take too much "meat" off :)

Ti or S/S, the rules are the same, it will only take you a tad longer on Ti due to its extra hardness compared to S/S.

cheers,
babola

Yep tried this to with my 177H CG;
1. sand down the CG 1/2mm-1mm
2. o-ring in crown, just cut a ring of thin (<1mm) old rubber and place it in crown
3. put some glue in lever that really never set hard (rubber glue/silicon glue) and fit pin

Got a non-wobbly lever that squeezes down to the crown and is real tight.
Seems like Davidsen now puts these crown o-rings in as standard, but not Josh and Trusty

And the last is yet another reason why I think I need to replace my 111H w/ one from DSN.

Well I tried to tighten the screws, didn't do anything. I don't really trust myself to take the watch apart and sand it down....guess I'll have to figure something out, or live with it.

There's supposed to be a good CG for sale on Ebay from Jimmyzfu I think the seller's name is, but it's a nasty price.. 60 USD
