Gloss dial... it’s gonna be close to impossible to get every fingerprint, dust, scratches.. etc on a gloss dial. You just have to figure out what you are willing to live with.

First, use a air puffer and see if that clears up some of it. If there are fingerprints on the dial, get a very thin microfiber cloth. The kind that comes with eyeglasses. They are about the softest cloth you’ll find. Don’t just rub them on a glossy dial. I usually dab a little bit of water and a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol on it but not too much. Just enough to get it damp. Then just fold the cloth in to a point and just gently graze the dial with it but only where your finger prints are. If grazing it with that doesn’t work, that’s done. You’ll only make it worse by trying over and over.

DO NOT use rodeco on a glossy dial. It will leave marks that you’ll have to clean up using the above method. It’s sucks. Just remember to not handle a glossy dial without finger cots or gloves on.

I’ve made this mistake many times and you end up trying to clean the dial longer than whatever you were doing when you took the dial off.

Just remember, the majority of what you see under a loupe will not be as visible at wrist distance or even close up under a crystal without AR on it.

Just do a once over and whatever is left, leave it alone.

Good luck!

Zeiss lens cleaning cloths are great for gloss dials. I've used Walmart eyeglass cleaning fluid from their prescription vision center for a long time on dials. I have free lifetime refills on my bottles, lol. I spray a single light spray on the cloth then wave it back and forth in the air several times to cause the crystal sized damp spot to dry a bit. Then I pull the damp spot taut around my forefinger and proceed to gently swipe needed areas of the dial. It gets rid of everything - grease, fingerprints, rodico spots, etc. If there is something right up near a marker, I use my fingernail through the cloth with great care and just enough pressure to contact the dial with the cloth. I suggest practicing first on a junk dial until you're comfortable with whatever technique you choose to use.

Take care not to rub anything across the marker lume plots, especially if using a liquid. Its possible to soften or degrade a lume bed.
