Hi guys,
I bought this PAM504 from a TD a few weeks back, and as I was winding the watch up yesterday, the minute hands fell off!
I'm able to open up the case back but unable to get to the front/dial of the watch as the screws holding the movement (in RED) are recessed and below the plates. I can see the screw holding the crown though (in YELLOW).

Pls advise what i should do next... I would not want to send it back to the dealer as it will entail postage cost, customs issues and downtime.

Many thanks in advance.

Sorry to see this! Those plates are glued on. You should be able to gently pry them off with a small screwdriver.

Is this a Kuvarsit? While you're at it, you can file down the tube on the minute hand to get it nice and flush with the CP.

Thanks Grimlocktime! Yes its a KW, but I'm concerned about prying off the plates...don't want to screw it up. Maybe will bring it to a watchsmith, but the prying off the plates procedure has me worried.

I guess thats the only way?

The movement is actually more robust than you'd think. Just pry off the plate and don't touch the balance wheel and you'll be fine. 6497s are quite indestructible.

The only problem is re-gluing the movement plates back on. You will need to use a soft glue (silicon, hot-glue, etc) instead of the hard glue (super-glue) used from the factory. The plates will not go back on with the same glue points.
