How often do you change straps? Any issues with stripping the case?

How often do you all change straps on your PAMs? I like changing straps often but I'm concerned about stripping the case? Is this an issue with PAM reps or should I not be concerned. I don/t mind having to replace screws if ever needed, assuming that the replacements available from Panatime, etc. work well.

On SS Luminors you can use springbars that look like the normal screw bars. I think Panatime has them.

Thanks for the tip! Do you happen to know if the 26mm version "should" work on a 127 or other 26mm screw like the ceramic 508? I may order several in both sizes. *edit:thinking about it and observing the spring bars, I'd probably reserve these for the event that a case strips as these would likely eventually damage the thread. Sounds like a good option though.

If you use proper tools, the screws/springbars won´t be damaged

Yes, this you can do. I've not yet stripped the thread of any of my screw-in lug bars to necessitate this by following a simple regimen. After replacing the strap, before tightening, back-up the screw by doing a counterclockwise turn with the screwdriver. Then when you feel the click (which means the screw head has just engaged the hole in the case), turn the screw to tighten. :D

This exactly. And always use tubes on screw-in lug bars to help prevent the screws loosening.
