How long have you had your rep?

Hi everyone,

Trying to gauge the “quality” of these reps. How long have you had your reps? Months? years? Some common issues, and if so, can you have them serviced pretty anywhere? or have you turned down for being a rep.?

I have rep watches, some of which are 10 years or older and still work well without ever having a service done.
I also have a few that needed (mostly small) repairs after a short time.
With this hobby there is always a small residual risk in what you get.
On the subject of rep friendly watchmakers, all I can say is that you simply need to ask your local watchmaker whether they are willing to work on rep watches.
It worked for me after a few phone calls.
I hope you continue to have fun at rwi.
ps. You should avoid asking at the big boutiques (they will just laugh at you).
Better try a small watch shop.

My reps(8) are between 4-7 years old and all but 1 are still running and working fine. Different schools of thought but I keep mine on a winder and rotate wearing them every 5 days… haven’t needed to repair any of them as of yet (knock on wood)

I have a Navy Themes AP that's 10 years old. 7750 movement which some call a time bomb. I've used the chronos and it still runs like a champ. I have a 6 year old modded Hulk. V2 Pepsi that's my daily watch . Had for over a year with no issues. A handful of 44 APs that are 8 years old. All run great. I can go on and on.

The main factor is YOU. Are you a neanderthal? Do you bang your wrist into everything you encounter ? Do you toss your watch around when you get home ?

I mean it is a really low quality Rep, just that!

Miyota makes good movement anyway...

i still have not received my first rep, i got a AP0878B - Royal Oak 15407 SS/SS Ske THB V2 SA3132

have a gen tag skeletonized carrera and was curious about the reps... i know one rep does NOT imply all other reps will be of similar quality however I plan to get a few more reps where the gen costs more than I would ever spend on a watch, in paticular the a.sohne 1815 Tourbillon seems very appealing.
