hi there,

this is my first time getting a replica watch.

I have done my reading at ALE's absolutely S U P E R guide on SUPER REP class of PAM replicas.

I am keen on taking the "can't go wrong" with PAM111 Noob V3.

It's dateless & it suits my needs, as I am too lazy to tune the date on watches now.

May I ask you guys, how long does an unserviced PAM replica last before it breaks down?

Thanks for sharing.

With an A6497, i would say 5 years or more.

hi elconquistador,

thanks for your reply.

1. May I ask you the A6497, I assume refers to the Asian UNITAS-6497, right?

2. May I ask if they are serviceable once they break down?

Should I adopt a buy & dispose attitude when it comes to replica watches?

I remember reading somewhere that handwinding watches are the most hardy compared to automatics, does it still apply in this scenario though it's a replica?

I look forward to your reply, with thanks!!!

6497s will last for years. If they start to fail I wouldn't fix the Asian one. If its a keeper through a Swiss mvt in it that will last another 10 years for 300 or put in another Asian mvt for 40

1. Firstly, thanks for all your inputs, it's been a great & fun learning journey, esp regarding this matter on longevity.

2. May I ask you guys... do the PRC Chinese replica watch merchants really put in a Swiss movement, when they advertise as one?

It seems that the price they sell the watch is just abit more expensive than the Swiss movement's standalone costs.

What do you guys think?

It depends. If you're lucky a long time. If you're unlucky maybe 1 month.

For me, forever or 10 seconds. Haven't had any in-between yet.

A6497 will last usually many years
But you can assure nothing with a rep
Anyway you will get a solution without problems and no expensive

The A6497 is like a tank and very easy for servicing. But it could be hard to find a Swiss 6497-2 with 21600bpm, because ETA don't make that movements anymore.

yes, I guess that's the tradeoff that I have to live with, for indulging in a replica, which is cheaper than a gen.

all in all, there's still alot of value in it... if it doesn't spoil too fast.
