This is a watch I would like as a rep because it is not so big. The reps I have are very well replicated but most of them are big. This is a smaller one with a very nice design. But there will never be an accurate rep of this one. The see through bottom will reveal an ETA clone but the gen has an in-made movement (cal 1887). So the design of the watch might be a piece of cake but the movement will never be reppped. ETA's new policy will make it harder for the rep factories to make good copies in the future as many watch companies start to use their own movements.
dial and case can easily be "perfectly" repped.
the movement is not an issue really.
if they can get the caseback correct, all that is needed is a custom rotor.
98% of what people look for in a rep automatic is the rotor, not really the
movement per se. so as long as they make a rotor that matches the
look of the gen, it doesn't matter so much if there's a clone 7750 or a
7753, or whatever underneath it.
