Hidden impact, this is actually the reason why you would want to spend that much money on a gen. Knowing that it is actually waterproof, built properly and essentially guaranteed to work. Buying a rep sometimes doesn't give you that reassurance. I've purchased great reps but some crap out, even the really great ones that everyone swears by. I have 3 Gen Tag heuers and theyve never had problems. I love my reps but gens are expensive for a reason and not solely because of the name brand.
I spend $300 on my shoes because they last a lifetime, they feel great and they can get resoled and not thrown away unlike spending $80 on shoes that don't last a year and make your feet hurt.
Momma always said spend money where it counts. Have a couple good watches when the reps fail you is all I'm saying.
