I was in Las Vegas for 4 days over the weekend and decided to put my 44mm Pink Gold (avatar pic) to the test. My girlfriend was looking for a high-end lady's watch (she bought a Breuget Naples) and we ventured into several very high end watch store, 3 of which were AP dealers. One day I was wearing my Pink Gold 44mm rep and was amazed at how the sales people in the store were totally fooled and in holding and looking at the genuine Panda version every visible detail was indeed perfect. Of course I'd never take it off and show them the movement as that's a whole other story... I bought mine from Puretime

Yeah they are pretty good these days indeed. If you just want them for the looks they are absolutely stunning provided you don't show the back haha

Haha, yup it was good you didn't do that (Take the watch off) as that would been a different story lol ..... As far as the structure and materials, it's white close but the movement through the clear case back needs some work/improvement definitely.

The first rule is: NEVER, EVER take your replica watch to authorized dealer of the same brand... and even worse are the members who show off and brag about their replicas to AD's.

Boasting about this is enough to get you banned on Rwi, and if you still want to it Fine we can't stop you but i don't want to read about it on Rwi.

I understand about it being tacky, maybe a bit dumb to wear an AP replica to an AP Authorized Dealer.

But making an actual rule about it, and banning people for talking about it is just plain silly.

Sometimes we all need to relax a little bit, and not chop heads at first blood.

Rules are rules and if you don't respect them then you know where the door is ok!

Peanut gallery comment:

This rule is in place for our own continued enjoyment of the hobby. Flaunting your rep at an AD is akin to committing a crime and bragging about it on FB.

Just sayin... Let's not put undue pressure on the almost unfettered access we have to these replica watches.

I understand both sides and besides it not like you wore it there specifically to show the AD. It just happened to be on your wrist the day you went I guess. I think most people on RWI already have an idea what to avoid . Anyone should be free to wear their reps when and wherever they choose to BUT still be smart about it...

I guess I could have predicted such a response.

Fair enough.

Damn didn't expect this kind of reaction to the post. I see all sides of it. The way I look at it, don't be an asshat. Don't bring RWI into anything and if you look like an idiot getting caught with your rep in an AD, that's on you. Just don't bring us into it.

Where I need to be.
Lets face it, I am sure a lot of us would have worn a rep or another to ADs, because sometimes we just happen to be passing by an AD wearing our rep.
But it should not be posted here... keeping it off the forums would be the sensible thing to do. ;)

I dread the day these big brands pressure my country law enforcement to cramp down 100% on rep. Than it will be back to collecting swatch watches.
