I have one which keeps good time, but the reset to 12 on the seconds has already gone (now resets to 2) after 2 weeks.

Reset it then! Not rocket science pull winder out to time setting position and press button at 2 until the hand is correctly positioned then push winder back in.

By contrast if it were a 7750 you would be shipping it back or to a watch repairer for major surgery!!

They are generally great they are usually far more accurate than the 7750 and for sure require 100 times less looking after

The Swiss have NOTHING on the Japanese when it comes to quartz movements. I only wish that the water resistency was better ......

Hey!

They're very good. I have several Invicta and Seiko chronos; they perform very well and last a long time (my experience). My one Seiko Aircraft/Pilot style is five years old & still works like new.

Just be careful if you are looking at a watch which has a Seiko 7T32 in it.
Like every manufacturer, even the best sometimes have a lemon,...... and this one is it for Seiko. Prone to a number of issues, and all replacement parts for these, (as well as replacement movements) were pulled from the shelves long ago by Seiko.
I have had a "treasured favourite" from one of my clients, sitting on the shelf for 12 months awaiting a donor movement, which hasn't the same problems, and haven't found one yet.
So stay away from 7T32's!!

I had a Seiko with a 7T32 and was never aware of those problems!

They've sold millions of those in EU.
Good to know anyway...

I think the movt the OP is referring to is the Miyota OS20 quartz chrono
OS20.jpg

or the OS10?
OS10.jpg

These are the same movts found in "designer" & tool watches all over the world: DKNY, D&G Time, LumTec etc.

i would be suspicious of any other "Japanese" quartz if it wasn't a Miyota, Seiko, Citizen though. Some "Japan" movts are assembled in China - big difference.

**How good are Japanese Quartz Working Chronograph Movements?

Miyotas are very good. Every watch I've had (and still have) with these movts have been almost bulletproof.

**Do they last long and accurate?

Every one I've had, have been fuss-free and only needed adjustment for date and maybe a minute out every 6 months or so.
Not to COSC std (obviously) but much better all-round (wear & tear, no worries) than an asian auto, a7750 included.
