I would take a look on eBay there's tons of gen straps on there.

I guess it's really an aesthetic thing; I'd suggest collecting it if you buy on eBay.

I'm not greatly knowledgeable on Patek Philippe stamped straps but any replicas i've come across with the Patek stamps are rather poor quality; You'll be able to tell straight away if it's a gen

They don't need a serial number to order a replacement strap, right? I would say that I bought the watch on chrono24 and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I doubt that anyone will think that you don't own the gen if you're so crazy to pay that much for a leather strap.

I'm also curious as to the same thing. I looked on the PP website and I didn't really see this option. Anyone else know where to get the gen straps?

Hi, nowadays Chrono 24 is a good starting place. You can choose to buy from Jewellers/AD only, You can choose the Chrono 24 protection and You can specify the countries You want to buy from depending if in Asia, EU or USA: http://www.chrono24.com/en/patekphilippe/partsaccessories--acc.htm.

Than You have specialists like Gray&Sons Jewellers: http://www.grayandsons.com/category/131

From the pictures I see on the AP and Rolex sections, what really makes an instant visible gen-like difference is to have the double anti-reflex coating done on the crystal, I´m sure it would make a huge difference on any Patek (more than the strap). Both together must be fantastic:)

Thanks Daywatch, the Gray&Sons site is pretty nice actually and they have a solid selection which I really couldn't find elsewhere. Anyone else know of any similar stores? Thanks!

You may also want to check some of the Gen watch forums like Timezone or Watchnet.
Tourneau is a Patek dealer so they can assist as well, but I prefer to support my local AD's over Tourneau.
I would be highly concerned buying a Gen PP strap from Ebay unless it was from a well known and verifiable source with amazing references, but there may be good deals to be had there if you know what you are looking for.
Good Luck
