there is always something wrong on a Ultimate Edition?
incorrect crown, incorrect dial, incorrect caseback, etc...
If you look at DSN and the Prince ultimate editions of the fiddy, they both have the wrong
color for the Panerai and 1950 lettering on the dial. Both are beige brown instead of butterish yellow.

I have a 253 with the wrong hue of blue for the chrono needle and incorrect numbers (too thin)
I also have a fiddy with the wrong crown and not deep enough dial

how come the result is always so close but never perfect?

"Ultimate" really just means the best available up until that point.

There is no perfect rep out there...

I understand that but once they do nail a part to perfection, why do they have to make it less perfect and pair it with
another perfect or upgraded item?
the "ultimate" for sale right now have the ultimate movement...but the wrong dial.
its like two steps forward and one backward isnt it?

Well, DSN's Fiddy is the most accurate "out of the box" rep of that watch ever offered. Sure the text is too brown, but it's better (or at least not any worse) than the older dials with the bright white text.

Yes, in a lot of cases they improve one thing and another gets worse. I have no good excuse for it. The bottom line is that most of these factories don't care about watches, they're just out to make money. So, they don't keep a running tally of all the improvements that have been/should be made. As long as there isn't another model out there that is better than theirs, they make money.
