i think Davidsen has a dis-advantage in the ability to make a super rep PAM anymore ... i still love his 27/57 series though.

The font in the numerals is wrong. Just look at the 2 in "12" and compare with gen pics. I do hope David gets to update the dial though.

There will be an R, it's not a limited edition, but the run each year will be limited, first year has been quite limited, 150'ish, next years' series will be based on demand. It's a standard model moving forward, albeit limited to Firenze Boutique.

The Special Edition is limited to the Firenze boutique but it can be obtained outside of the boutique itself. So I've heard.

I flew over to Florence a couple of weeks ago to pick up the gen. It's a thing of absolute beauty and should be easy enough to rep to a high quality, it's a sausage dial so usual challenge there re: reps.

yes, it looks like a simple 000, but it has black hands with white sub seconds and 4-liner with closed case back. This is money!..but apparently only feel this guy!

It's a keeper that's for sure. It's my favourite so far, closely followed by my 000. I like the ETA models, they're cheap (relatively speaking) and the movement is bullet-proof and easily serviced. I have a 590 with the 8-day movement & whilst mine keeps time to COSC standards there's plenty of chatter on p.com that the timing is off on many in-house Panerai movements.
