how can i reduce the smell of Rubber Strap

I bought a 005 with rubber strap. The strap smell terrible....but i like the look of rubber strap....has anyone idea how can i reduce this smell???

Well if its anything as strong as what came with my Breitling abyss 42, I could smell it if you had it locked up in a drawer. My only solution that worked as to replace the strap, but I had heard boiling for a while would help with the smell.

Dont let the water boil out, I remember somebody let all the water boil out and they came back to a puddle of rubber goo.

It will smell even while you sleep, does not need to be wet. They should turn this perpetual scent into an air freshener of some sort and make millions! The scent is impossible to get rid of completely in my opinion, you can only make it less obvious. Some have had better luck than me.

There is another way to eliminate the smell: by introducing something even worse smell than the strap. The diversion technique. Stop taking a bath and consume a lot of curry for instance.
