Hi guys, I'm trying to decide between getting a homage( most likely MM from getat or jackson) or a decent rep (probably PAM 111)
Is there any reason why one is better than another?

thanks

One looks like a gen Pam, one does not.

Homages are available in many styles and configurations, and the initial price is cheaper.
However once you add sapphire and consider the better fit and finish of a good 44mm Bettarini case the homage loses its charm.

I had several homages, and sold them all. Now I have 30 Pams.

I would go for a rep. What's the point of the homage? It immediately says "fake" watch, right?

When people buy the homage it's because they want to get as close to the gen as possible so it makes sense to go for the rep easy choice

Perhaps you can consider a RXW MM20 rep? It's a rep of a homage!

Haha thanks guys for the replies
I guess it's an easy decision considering homage will never fool anyone lol
i was considering a homage because it can be build with any spec ( hand/dial combination), but i guess the end game will always be closest to Gen

Homages are nice for those models you wouldn't be able to get from a dealer like vintage PAMs for example. But for contemporary and modern models, go rep or go home. ;)

Maybe it's just me being a brand whore but if a watch looks like a Rolex or PAM etc but doesn't have Rolex or PAM on the dial - it looks UGLY and out of place to my eyes

+1. I don't care for the sterile dials, they look...bare and boring.

I agree with all here, despite some & I mean few homage brands that build a solid watch the desired result is still to have something as close to the Gen as possible...so go Rep

In my opinion, in addition to the vintage pams, the other reason to go for homage is if you want customised features. I got a custom dial made with both of my sons name on it also with the pam text. I then also got a customised display caseback with pam style text... "Luminor Halai" (surname) and the twins year of birth. Looks awsome.

The only issue for me now is finding the time to put it all together.

The quality of reps can't be matched though.
