They should synchronize the dialogues with texts according to subtitles. Doesnt make sense like that. He complains about russian shellfire in his backyard and then theres the text saying something about goats.

Not funny for germans :bored:

Sorry about that. Need to mute sound.

Have you seen the film? Even with English sub-titles it's a powerful film. Bruno Ganz is brilliant

Yes, of course i have seen that film, a couple of times actually, it is one of the better films my country produced in the last decades... Think it was also quite successful around the world. Very much attention was paid to even small details, everything was very "gen-like", as we would say here. And the storyline, though some scenes scripted to be a bit pathetic (we just cant stop apologizing for what happened), is quite neutral and based on the known facts, characters are based on real persons. Even the last surviving member of the LSSAH Führerbegleitkommando who served the last four years in adolfs personal bodyguard unit until the end in the bunker was involved as consultant for the production (just passed away a few weeks ago). Good actors also, for german standards...

And you are right, i have also seen that film in french, found it (and of course especially him!) to sound disappointing, checked english, also disappointing, then advised the french guys to switch to german with subtitles. In no other language that brute force of speech is possible plus it is more "gen-like", and thats what we all are looking for, arent we?

By the way, phil, as you seem to be somehow interested in history:

Hear him talking in his natural voice, when he was not "acting" in public speeches as on all existing official recordings. Here he talked to mannerheim from finland and was secretly recorded by a finnish technician. Although easily recognizable as "him", he sounds like a normal south german/austrian "average-joe". Not the fanatic screaming and shouting we are used to hear from that guy...
