High beat vs low beat

Hi guys,

I have a 219 Destro and a 112 that I love. I bought them from members and I absolutely love them!

They both have low beat movements. Since they a both watches that I want to keep, I am contemplating having high beat movements put in.

My question is...what are the avantages of a high beat as opposed to a low beat one? Are they more accurate? Do they have a longer power reserve?

Low beat ones have a habit of crapping out, not the most reliable. I've never had one die on me yet though. Why not just wait until they die and have them replaced then?

Bonesy is correct, also another thing on the high beat vs low beat is the low beat isn't finished quite as nice as the high beat. I have never had an issue on low beat.

I think this is good advice. I've had quite a few H factory low beat 6497s, and not a one of them has crapped out on me. No issues except for the time I had to reset the keyless on my 292k. Technically the high beat is visually more accurate, but no one can tell if the beat rate of the tiny seconds hand on a Panerai is 18.8 or 21.1 unless you take it off and hand it to them, and even then it's a very, very small segment of the population (even gen owners) who know what beat rate is, and what the correct one for a handwind panerai is.

what all of them said. you need to pick up a couple of seagul ST-36. these are the highbeat 21.6k.

are you looking for the Panerai brande ones? Post up a wtb.. I'm sure ppl might have some.. or I thinkkkk kurvasit sells them.. Double check on that

If it's a closed case back just swap in the standard hi beat 6497 and you will be fine. If it's open case back you can either buy the high beat platinum plated one that kuvarsit sells, or swap the plates over from your low beat.
