what that means is that if you appear to be contributing to the forum to the best of your ability and you purchase your watch through one of the TDs (Trusted Dealers) listed on this website- the nonpaid hard-working support staff will try and help you deal with the dealer in the event of a dispute. There are no tried and true guidelines for being "active". Just get involved=- ask questions in the flame free zone until you get your sea legs- and read read read before buying a watch. All the info you need is here- you just have to take the time to find it. People get tired of spoon-feeding new guys because they refuse to just simply read.
What happens on occasion and ruffles feathers around here is that someone buys from a dealer, things don't go as planned, and then their first appearance on this website is a tirade against a dealer and insisting that the unpaid, hard-working staff of RWI suddenly get involved and help you about - as a stranger with no credibility on here- to negotiate a dispute resolution with dealers that we have been working with for years..

Well, actually... You don't have to be an active contributor to be eligible for staff assistance. Just be a member the day before your order and have a pulse and ya gooda go.

Nope. Because it's almost always (in fact, I'd say pretty much 100%) due to the wrong sequence of actions that people in those cases took.
Meaning that they did neither properly try to resolve the problem with the TD and, if they did, they didn't quietly open a ticket at our help desk.
If people would do it the right way, there would be very little of those posts. Ideally none... or worst case 1% or less or so of what we see. A complaint post is only truly legitimate if not even the top floor could resolve a dispute. Not sure how often this happens. Probably almost never.
PS: This is of course if the dispute is even legitimate in the first place. Let's not kid ourselves, the majority isn't.
