This "prototype" lot of PAMs at Sotheby's is very interesting. It seems to me -- and this is only a tad of wisdom guided by a modicum of experience -- that they are using the blazing hot vintage Rolex market to engender some reinvigorated interest into the brand by showing insane, one-off auction values for unique pieces. It smells a tad desperate despite the fact that these are really cool pieces and certainly worth a good percentage of the auction estimates. This could be a watershed moment for the brand depending on the final sales figures ...
