Just order my self a 243 and was wondering is the hev on the pams sucks as bad as the dssd? With the dssd, you can break a sweat and get moisture under the crystal. Not planning on swimming with it or anything, just around the house, stuff like washing dishes.

HEV on pams, disaster waiting to happen?

Took mine to a few dives with no issues. The only mod I had to do on mine other than greasing the gaskets was to replace the crown gasket with a thicker one, you may not have to do that on yours, mine was barely touching the tube.

I cut it from some rubber sheets, got them from a friend who has a custom seals company but I guess you can use any quality rubber sheet. I cut it using an empty Parker refill, sharpened the edges and used the top for the outer edge and tip for the hole, perfect fit. Later I discovered I also get good results using a leather punch tool.
I did the mod on a few Pams and the thickens of the sheet I had to use varies. Around 0.83mm on my 243 if i remember correctly. 0.92mm on 187, 0.78mm-0.85mm on Mini Fiddy cases. The allowable deviation is pretty small as 0.1mm can make the difference between a lever that won't stay close and lever that can't be closed. But when done right it has a really nice snap in place feel, being that the lever also has the correct shape and can reach over the center doom of the crown.
